IVFCPD's learning modules have been developed along the standard CPD format. This entails
Learning objectives
Each module should contain 1-3 learning objectives
Pages of Information
The standard Learning module needs to contain up to 10 pages of information with images. The concept is that the information can be processed within a short and reasonable time frame. Each module may be linked to a general skill level so some modules may be useful for new staff to learn basic information while for experienced staff to improve their level of specific knowledge on a more specific field.
Questions
As general rule, each page of information should have 1-3 questions attached to it. This not only serves as a tool to let the participant know if they understand the content but as a proof for the moderators of professional development certification their ongoing education
References
Where possible, online references on the subject of the module should be available for the participants to extend their knowledge on the subject.
Author Information
A brief introduction on the authors experience should be included with a small photo available as an option.
Module Content and scope
While initially, the CPD modules will be prepared by IVFCPD, it is anticipated that going forward, authors of recent articles or presentations will be invited to prepare one or modules at both basic and experienced skill levels.
It is anticipated that manufacturers or suppliers may contribute to IVFCPD modules as an "Advertising Feature" so that participants will be aware of the source of the information. On this subject, unlike other forums for education, IVFCPD views that all staff should be aware of all the technology that is available not only to be able to choose products with some knowledge but to also understand the technology they may use.
